Bionic Commando

Will this blast from the past make as much of an impression today as it did 20 years ago? Read all the different ways I wrote “no, it didn’t” in this review

And here we are reviewing another Capcom game. I like Capcom, unlike the entire gaming community these days. Could like it better if they had their shit together and actually spent time to make sure that the games of popular franchises they make are a reliable product for the established fans. And Bionic Commando got shafted in that regard.

Unlike Devil May Cry, I don’t particularly like this game series that much but I reckon it deserves a little background information since it´s one of those cult classics that someone is always going to talk about.

The original Bionic Commando was one of the great games of the Nintendo era, mostly because the guys making the game were thinking outside the box. Simply put, Bionic Commando was a side scrolling 2D action platformer where you couldn´t jump.

And apparently that was awesome.

Devil May Cry 4

What do you get when you cross an effeminate lead character, cheesy rock music and giant monsters trying to kill the human race? A decent action game, apparently.

One game that’s making a pretty big stir in the video game community nowadays is the reboot of the Devil May Cry franchise, the infamous DmC. Now, while I’m not sure how good or bad the actual game will be since it’s pretty early to properly judge anything, I can safely say that the game doesn’t look as appealing or just plain good as the ludicrous, surreal stylish bonanza that the last 2 games were.

That said, while we wait for this sure to be financial train wreck to come out so we can finally give a proper opinion, why don’t I give my opinion about the last game of the series?

Batman: Arkham Asylum

Is Arkham Asylum be a game worthy of the character that once carried giant ACME bombs away to safety in the 60’s?

So here’s how I’m really starting this thing. A triple A game that pretty much everyone loved, reviewers and gamers alike. Not exactly what you’d call a particularly interesting start since what you’re going to read here is probably going to sound familiar but you can’t argue with quality. Hell, this game singlehandedly renewed the gaming community’s faith that a genuinely good super hero game could be made in this generation of gaming.

And with Arkham City just around the corner, maybe this little review will remind you what you really enjoyed about this game in the first place.

The obligatory introduction post

Well, what do you know. Another Blogger just dying to talk about his very own video game reviews. What a novelty, huh?

Wait a minute! Don't click away from the blog just yet, I'm not your average amateur video game reviewing blogger like the common riff raff out there....I'm an average amateur video game reviewing blogger that contributed to a failed video game review site! So don't worry about the lack of credentials or the fact that you have no fucking clue who i am because i obviously know what i'm doing and i'm certainly not wasting anyone's time.

With that out of the way, i guess the reason i'm doing this is because i kinda like speaking my mind about video games and related stuff, without trying to come off as much of a douchebag or a tool of the industry. I mean, we've come to a point as a gamer that when we're undecided about getting this or that game, we're either limited to "official" gaming sites and their flawed video game reviews with numerical scores or your run-of-the-mill Vlog angry reviewer whose concept of fun is literally not having fun and screaming about it. Not that I'm doing something terribly original here but i pretty much just want to say if the game I'm currently (re)playing is worth it or not. So I'm not even talking about reviewing the latest, hottest game out there, it's not about trying to keep up with the current flavor of the week. It's just that I'm stashed with games, old and new, and i want to say my piece about the ones i liked or disliked the most, with some nerd rage, shitty jokes and poor comedy in-between.

Pretty simple reason, huh? That's what I'm sticking to, let's see how it goes. The first review should be up shortly, it should give you an idea how I'm planning to handle my reviews. Then again, you probably already alt-f4'ed from the blog so I'm probably just talking to myself at this point, begging me to give myself a chance.
