Oh Capcom, you still get it right sometimes.
As you may have noticed, Phoenix looks like a total badass now as he's returning to the courtroom as a defense lawyer after clearing himself from the charges that got him disbarred in Apollo Justice. So far we know that the game is in 3D but in a way to tries to invoke the feeling of 2D, takes place 1 year after Apollo (Making it 8 years after Trials and Tribulations) and that he'll have a brand new assistant. Gameplay wise, we'll have a new system for the cross examination although we don't know how it works. Not much info for now but Capcom said they would reveal more in TGS and later after that. It will be interesting to see how Phoenix's long experience as a lawyer will show in this game and how it's thematically connected to the new gameplay system. And let's not forget about pretty much every reccuring character from the series like Edgeworth, Maya, Pearls, Emma, Gumshoe and even Apollo and Trucy, the adopted daughter of Phoenix.
It's been awhile since we've played with the goofiest, most lovable and entertaining lawyer in video gaming. Let's hope the game brings along a localization for both Investigations 2 and the Layton Crossover if it's successful enough. Personally, I can't wait to see a big OBJECTION bubble projecting from the DS screen in glorious 3D.
